Mecina Bombarón is characterized by its unique vernacular architecture and steep slopes, all set amidst ancient chestnut trees. The municipality of Alpujarra de la Sierra comprises Mecina Bombarón and Yegen, along with the villages of El Golco and Caserío de Montenegro. Situated at an altitude of approximately 1,270 meters above sea level, the area enjoys a very pleasant climate throughout the year; summer nights are comfortably cool, while winter brings plenty of sunny days. On clear, sunny days, you can even catch a glimpse of mountains on the African continent.

Casa La Bombaron makes the perfect base. The house is situated in the upper district (Barrio Alto) of the lovely white village of Mecina Bombarón, in the Alpujarra de la Sierra region. There are also three small grocery stores, a bakery, a butcher, a pharmacy, a bank with an ATM, and—recently added—a nightclub.
Casa La Bombaron is situated at an altitude of 1,300 meters. This means you can sleep comfortably in the summer without air conditioning. This is one of the reasons the village is so popular with Spanish tourists, who come here for an authentic holiday to relax and enjoy the local cuisine.
