What makes it so special? The mountain village is built around an immense gorge through which the Guadelevin River flows. The gorge splits the old and new parts, and you can easily cross via the Puente Nuevo. Do stand still for a moment, though, because from here you can look straight into the 100-meter-deep gorge. Breathtaking!
Some tourists take a look from the bridge and turn back; they have seen what they wanted to see. But did you know that there is much more to see? The Gardens of Cuenca, for example. Or the view you get when you descend into the gorge from Plaza Maria Auxiliadora. The Casa del Rey Moro palace is also highly recommended.
